debbie and michael came to us with a super inspiring design board jam-packed with graphic and floral patterns they wanted to include in their wedding palette. they also loved the idea of a crisp palette of black, white, bright pinks and kelly green.

for their save the dates, we created a self-mailing postcard filled with layers of floral, chevron and stripes along with a combination of playful typefaces. guests' mailing addresses were printed directly onto each card. debbie purchased custom chevron postage stamps from zazzle.com to complete their package.

we are looking forward to working with these fabulous patterns on their invitation package!

hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! we spent yesterday at the greater philadelphia bridal expo at the fuge, in warminster pennsylvania. it was quite impressive seeing this enormous industrial room come to life. they put on a great event that was not only full of wedding vendors, but showcased how an event could be held there. fabrics, lanterns, and acrobats hung from the 30 foot plus ceilings. flowy drapes and colorful lighting transformed the entire room into moody atmosphere. the original circular centrifuge is still in the center of the room and is great little spot for the bar and the top of it is an ideal stage for the band.

we enjoyed meeting all of you that stopped by our booth and look forward to working with you!

p.s. our adorable mini cupcakes on our table were made by dee's mom of dot's cakes!

in honor of this evening's $250 million powerball jackpot, we thought we would share one of our recent scratch-off save the date designs for carly + tom. carly came to us with visions of a romantic and traditional design combined with the lighthearted scratch-offs. we added touches of romance by using a lace pattern and a palette of grays and silvers. at the bride's request, we added a pop of pink to the word love.

we are participating in the 2012 GPM bridal expo this sunday, february 12th! it's being held from 12pm-4pm at the fuge in warminster, pennsylvania. the bridal event is going to be a big deal -- packed with giveaways, fashion shows, and a fun groom cake bake off. not only is the event itself a first of it's kind for the area, but the space has a very cool story. the fuge, was a centrifuge for training fighter pilots in the 40's and then astronauts in the 60's, including neil armstrong and buzz aldrin. it's such a unique venue -- 12,000 square feet, completely circular, with a wonderful history.

for kathryn's shower gift, our group of friends gave her a gift certificate for one newborn photo shoot with one of our fave photographer's alison conklin. we loved designing with kathryn's soft palette of chocolate brown and light marigold and of course this beautiful photo of miss reagan madonna!

a few years ago, we created a dance-themed bat mitzvah package for josh's sister, sydney. now it was josh's turn to celebrate with his sports-themed bar mitzvah.

the style of his invitation was inspired by his favorite sport, soccer and his favorite team, fc barcelona. the color palette consisted of his two favorite colors, blue and green. we designed a custom team crest for his monogram. the front of his invitation was designed to look like a professional soccer jersey. to stay "green," his tech-savvy mother decided to create a website for guests to rsvp and gather more info. all invites were mailed to guests in grass green envelopes and finished with a custom photo stamp.

in addition to the invitation, we designed the elongated tri-fold ceremony program and turned the monogram into an embroidered patch for the take home/favor items for the kids. josh's mom had them sewn onto mesh basketball shorts and cotton shorts for the girls. they turned out super cute!

our pal amanda of love me do photography is engaged! her, her fiancé john, boris (their cute english bulldog) and the rest of the crew at love me do recently completed a super fun engagement shoot in the woods. amanda and john love everything about the outdoors, so this was the perfect setting to build a fire, eat s'mores and snuggle. these photos make us smile (and crave s'mores)! check out more of their amazing camp-themed shoot here.

we are excited to say this couple is also a client of ours. we are in the process of developing their wedding logo which they will use for stationery and day of materials for their big day this summer. these photos have been a huge inspiration as we create a mark to capture their personalities. we'll be sure to share once it's complete!

here's a late evening post, my (dee) holiday cards are hot off the presses! pat and i are addressing, stamping and stuffing as we speak. they will be going out in the mail tomorrow...but if you are on my mailing list, here is a sneak peek!

the front of the card has one of our favorite wedding photos by the ever-so-amazing alison conklin. we were blessed with a beautiful snowy day and the photo was taken right before we saw each other for the first time that day.

we chose a super classic black and white palette with a white metallic stock to give it a little festive pop! they will be mailed in midnight black envelopes, hand addressed (by me!) with white ink, and our return address stamp is from one of our favorite sites, paperwink.

back in august we shared the invitations for the greatest caRniville on earth, here is the save the date we realized we never posted! our scratch-offs have been a hit for wedding save the dates, but also work wonderfully for bar and bat mitzvahs!

incorporating their pretty pink palette with some fun polka dot and striped patterns, we gave just a hint of their caRniville theme without giving much away!

feeling inspired by sullivan owen floral + event design. my mom and i (cheyenne) participated in a holiday wreath making workshop at sullivan's studio last thursday evening. this was an early christmas gift for my mom and something unique that we could do together. we had the most fantastic experience! we were 2 of 4 students so we had lots of attention from sullivan and her assistant sammi. we had plenty of room to rotate our wreaths as we worked and tons of flowers, herbs, and greens at our fingertips. we both walked away with a lovely wreath to display on our front door, not to mention an awesome pair of cutting shears, apron, and extra wire to take on more decorating if we so desire.

sullivan's studio is a gorgeous space that exudes her aesthetic well. the palette is a mix of tonal grays and silvers. you walk in the front door and are immediately greeted with a floor to ceiling vintage sea green shelf unit that is loaded with interesting containers -- from metal to milk glass. any customer that walks in there knows they are going to receive a one-of-a-kind creation just by looking around the room. she is a true artist with a keen sense of color and texture. i highly recommend taking one of her floral classes for your own inspiring experience.

save the date for elizabeth and christopher's june wedding at the fabulous hotel du pont in delaware. elizabeth asked for an 'antique-chic' save the date that was both elegant and unpredictable. we achieved elegance with the metallic ivory paper and classic diamond pattern. the horizontal format, mix of vintage fonts, playful wording, banner, and distressed ink all make this design a little quirky and unexpected.

we carried the metallic gold onto the matte eggplant envelope with the return address and calligraphy by melanie from gracefully addressed.

elizabeth is a girl full of ideas! she came to us with pages of inspiration and thoughtful sketches of her vision. she is documenting all of the details of her wedding planning process with a personal blog -- we especially love the post about the save the date transformation. we also thought it would be interesting to share this and for others to see the process from start to finish!

back in september we attended a book signing for grace bonney, creator of design*sponge (one of our most fave blogs). she was promoting her fantastic new book design*sponge at home. it is chock full of inspiration from fabulously designed apartments, to diy projects and even a few before + afters. the event took place at the one and only terrain at styers. it was one of the first chilly, fall evenings and of course terrain was beautifully decorated with every type of pumpkin and mum you could imagine. while we waited for the book signing to begin, we sipped on spiked pumpkin cider served in mason jars with adorable flag stirrers as we munched on various seasonal hors d'oeuvres. it was a great evening that helped kick start some ideas for the upcoming holidays! since everyone is preparing their homes for their thanksgiving feasts, we thought we would share a few images of the night for your own inspiration.

sarah + faiz were married at the horticulture center in fairmount park, philadelphia on october 29th. that was the day the east coast was hit with a very early snowstorm. despite the unexpected weather they had a gorgeous ceremony and reception in the warm and cozy greenhouse.

sarah + faiz requested their invite package convey a casual tone while including nature and touches of persian design in honor of faiz's background. we achieved nature with the drawn tree and textured paper and persian elements with the vivid magenta and ornate frames used throughout the package. the twine keeps the loose pieces casually bundled together. the mailing envelopes were hand addressed by melanie from gracefully addressed.

erica and arthur were married in october at the blue bell country club in blue bell, pennsylvania. their wedding style was elegant and formal and they asked that we reflect that in their invitation package. with a palette of shimmery golds and ivory we created a custom suite which included an oversized invitation with gold metallic backing, rsvp postcard, reception card with directions to the country club. erica was a diy bride and took on all of the assembly, including adhering the invitations to the gold paper backings. everything was neatly wrapped with a matching gold metallic belly band with each guest's name hand written in light pink ink by melanie at gracefully addressed. the mailing envelopes were also hand addressed by melanie and finished off with a custom rubber stamp chosen by erica and arthur.

leaya + chris were married this past weekend at the pennsylvania academy of fine arts. this fun pair sent along this inspiration a while back. we had a ball working together on a toy-inspired mark to represent them along with a package that was both bohemian and vintage, while still maintaining some traditional elements.

the stacked invite package included an invitation, rsvp postcard, folded directional/accommodation card, and a quirky little tag to tie it all together. the package was mailed in a kraft paper envelope and hand addressed in white ink by gracefully addressed.

the menu, over-sized program and thank you card follow in the invite's footsteps.

styled creative added their own magic to the night as they always do. we heard something about mini action figure bouttonieres! can't wait to see those!

hi all! cheyenne here, back from an incredible trip to south africa. south africa is my first home and i haven't been back in 20 years. besides the amazing reunion with cousins, aunts, uncles and friends; my husband and i explored quite a bit of the spectacular natural environments from the bush to the sea. we cuddled lion cubs, fed elephants, went shark cage diving, and enjoyed way too much of the local cuisine and wine! it was tough to leave such a beautiful country, but i'm feeling very inspired and refreshed...

today's post is in honor of this weekend's susan g. komen 60 mile, 3-day for the cure in philadelphia. this inspirational walk begins today in willow grove and will end on sunday with a closing ceremony at the philadelphia naval yard. we have gathered a pink collection to help spread breast cancer awareness. these items represent the hope, faith and strength that all of those battling or touched by this disease must endure. we are dedicating this post to all 3-day participants around the country, all survivors and to all of those who have lost their battle.

invitation package for danielle + ben's alice in wonderland themed wedding. as much as they loved the playfulness of their save the dates, the bride and groom requested their invitations give only a hint of their fabulous theme. keeping the look of the package more elegant and formal.

this package included an invitation, rsvp postcard, accommodation card and custom tag. the color palette was classic alice: red, sky blue, black and white. they loved the idea of stacking the pieces and mixing their patterns. everything was held together with black and white twine which was tied in a bow and completed with the circle "open me" tag! each invitation was mailed in a ruby red envelope and was hand addressed in white ink by gracefully addressed.

save the date and invitation package for jacqueline + brian. they were married this past march in pittsburgh, pennsylvania. they met and fell in love in philadelphia, so they asked us to incorporate an icon that resembled the love statue located in love park in center city, philadelphia. they had a very clean, modern color palette of black, white and a dash of hot pink. they requested the style of the invitations to have an overall traditional feel with touches of contemporary graphic patterns.

the save the date was a self-mailing postcard. we used a combination of a full bleed monotone image of the love statue with an overlapping graphic circle pattern.

the bride and groom requested the invitation design be more formal. the package included the invitation, rsvp postcard, accommodation card and custom map. everything was held together neatly with a graphic black and white belly band, where we carried over the love icon.

baby harry arrived at the end of august. parents missy and josh have a passion for flying and all things airplanes. they requested that their baby announcement and thank you note play off that idea to spread the news of their own new arrival.

we also designed a coordinating series of three large posters for harry's bedroom. this was a thoughtful request by the mother's close friend, jess, which were presented to her at the baby shower!

we were delighted to be the featured stationer at appleford's open house held on thursday, september 22nd. stephen starr events hosted the night with a delicious tasting as usual. the setting was gorgeous... styled creative decorated the tented veranda with shabby chic ribbons and chandeliers and sullivan owen dressed up the room with vintage style roses arranged in mini mint julip cups. sarah dicicco, cinemacake filmmakers, and little baby's ice cream were just a few of the other talents of the night.

this is a special edition of happy things. three years ago we donated the design for the very first tom hartman memorial golf tournament. tom hartman passed away suddenly in 2008 due to a heart condition at the young age of 46. he was a beloved husband and father of three. the golf tournament was created as a tribute to tom and to raise money for the thomas r. hartman trust. this is a scholarship for a william tennent high school graduating senior who lost a parent during their high school years.

the tournament is monday, september 26th at the limekiln golf club, rain or shine. registration for the tournament is closed, however, you can still become a sponsor or possibly volunteer!

this post is dedicated to tom and his family. it is a collection of happy hearts. we hope it helps the hartman family reflect on all of their happy memories with tom and promotes heart awareness to others out there. his legacy will live on in every type of heart.

chelsea and christopher will be wed at the end of september at the beautiful holly hedge estate in new hope, pennsylvania. they wanted to incorporate textures of lace and vintage florals in their stacked wedding invitation package. we selected an ivory metallic paper stock, to add a touch of sheen. their rich color palette consisted of deep eggplant purple and lavender. the package included an invitation card, rsvp postcard, and a folded accommodation card which were held together with a satin ribbon. the package was then completed with a circle monogrammed tag. everything was mailed to guests in a deep purple metallic envelope.

carolyn + robert's elegant wedding invitation package for their late september nuptials at the downtown club in philadelphia. this monochrome color palette of black and gray shines on the white metallic paper. two swarovski crystals were added to each invitation for a little extra sparkle, a special request from the bride, that we just love! the invite was the only card mounted to a black matte cover sheet, which made it stand out even more among it's counterparts.

earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes...oh my! with this incredible weather on the east coast we thought it was the perfect week to post amy + justin's farmer's almanac-inspired save the date and wedding invitation package. amy asked for a design that resembled the look of an old almanac. she loved the idea of using a mix of fonts and etched embellishments.

they chose a 4x6 self-mailing postcard for the save the date. it was a four-color piece and just gave a hint of what was to come for the invitation package.

the invitation and reply card were letterpressed with a deep navy ink on cranes lettra ultra thick ecru stock. the 19th century etched artwork is obviously perfect for the letterpress process! amy tied in the lavender from the save the dates with a simple raffia bow and custom address stamp.

we wish them the best as they wed on 9.10.11 at the york harbor reading room in maine.

well, we are both glad to have that week of natural disasters behind us!! we are safe and we feel so fortunate that all of our family and friends are okay.

here are some snapshots of a photo-strip style place card we were working on while stuck inside this weekend. how special to include family wedding photos in your own wedding day materials! these tables are named by the years of relatives' wedding dates along with a corresponding black and white photo.

this ticket is good for one amazing, unforgettable celebration!! this package was created for rachel's vintage carnival-themed bat mitzvah held at lu lu shriners in plymouth meeting, pennsylvania. the event was styled by the lovely ladies of styled creative with many handmade details by rachel's fabulous mom, debbie. she created loads of goodies for rachel's big day including: the handsewn seersucker pouch which held the invitations, bowtie rings for the guests, old-fashioned caRniville games, and even cloth bows for the coffee stirrers!! each invitation package included a letterpressed caRniville ticket invite, vintage rsvp postcard, brunch invite, mailing labels, custom postage stamps and calligraphy by gracefully addressed. everything was placed into pink pouches which were wrapped with twine and tied with three playful tags. the package arrived to each guest in a clear cellophane envelope.

we carried the theme through to the event signage, t-shirts and backpack favors.

we had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with carina, amanda, and nadine of love me do photography in their new northern liberties studio this afternoon. we shared work and stories over some tea and cookies. their space was decorated with their beautiful wedding photos which sat on ledges in a variety of antique frames among fun vintage treasures. here are a couple snapshots of their fun + inspiring space!

jessa and damon will be exchanging their wedding vows this october, with a desert wedding at the ritz carlton, dove mountain in arizona. they requested that their invitation be more formal than their save the date. this package was a combination of letterpress and digital printing which included: a letterpressed invitation, rsvp postcard and folded accommodation card with a custom designed map. for the invitation we used a palette of sage green and charcoal gray, which overlapped a blind debossed tuscan pattern. for the other pieces a mustard yellow was added to the mix! the beautiful calligraphy for both outer and inner envelopes was provided by helene gaffin.

we received this sweet little box of goodness in the mail from debi sementelli and lettering art studio. debi is an extraordinary lettering artist and is sharing her hand-lettering with the world in font form!! her new font and ornament collection, named belluccia, is exactly what we've been searching for. we cannot wait to experiment with the combinations of glyphs and flourishes to create an invite that appears hand-lettered. follow debi's beautiful commissioned projects here.

our minds were saturated with inspiration and social media tidbits at the ohjoy! rx workshop we attended monday night at moore college of art. we were so lucky to get a spot -- the workshop hosted by aiga philly sold out that same day!

the 3 hour workshop was fantastic. we sat among the most stylish group of 40 talented ladies. joy was everything we'd thought she be -- cute, interesting and pregnant! she spoke so eloquently and her presentation was invaluable.

we left that night with many new ideas as we design our website and brand new blog, joy's adorable notebooks, 40 business cards and many new friends in philly and the blogging world. we look forward to collaborating with many of these ladies on future projects.

kelly and robert's elegant purple invitation package for their june wedding held at st. anastasia's and celebrated at the fabulous crystal tea room in philadelphia. the couple had admired the style of thai-an and ted's wedding invite we previously designed, but wanted to customize a few details and colors to make it all their own. we love the fun titles for the detail cards in the pocket -- how perfect is stay and play! cherry blossom branches and a mix of purple tones and textures were carried throughout their wedding day.

a collection of beautifully saturated thank you postcards for the wedding guests of sarah + mazen. vintage nj postcards collected by the bride were used to create the front of these notes and a message of gratitude along with the couple's new home address filled the back. a cute and useful takeaway from their stone harbor wedding. we even recreated the postage cancellation stamp to read june 18th -- their wedding date!

nicole + chris. wedding day.

nicole and chris were married on july third. in addition to their save the dates and invitation package, they asked us to continue their design theme throughout their wedding day. this included: seating charts, program fans, menus, table numbers, a thumbprint tree for guests to sign, bridal party shirts and various other signage for the day. we also worked with etsy shop wandering starfish to create custom buckets to hold the programs and sparklers (their favor!)

fun, cute, and clever save-the-date illustrated by our friend and former classmate, peter wonsowki. we couldn't keep this one to ourselves! if you didn't notice the monogram right away... look closely to see the girl's S-shaped twisting body with her P-shaped dancing partner, and W created by the broadway lights behind. looking forward to seeing what he comes up with for their invitation package!
